Hommage: LLOYD KAUFMAN - TROMA
Lloyd Kaufman Troma, the oldest independent studio of the world, is famous for its crazy demented features full of ugly super heroes, punk lesbians and social criticism.
The LUFF is proud to welcome Lloyd Kaufman, creator of The Toxic Avenger, who will be present the 5th and the 6th of June to introduce some of his best movies.

Victim of censorship: COFFIN JOE
Coffin Joe Brazilian cult artist José Mojica Marins is without a doubt one of the most visionary director of History. During the 60's, he was responsible for the first Brazilian horror films, mixing psychedelic nightmarish visions to eroticism. In his country, he had to face a violent politic of censorship and wasn't autorized to release his films freely until 1985.
Andre Finotti, editor of the documentary Coffin Joe, the Strange World of José Mojica Marins will be present to introduce three films of the master available on brand new 35mm prints.

Carte blanche: PARIS EXPERIMENTAL, CHRISTIAN LEBRAT - (Paris, France)
Photographer and movie director, Christian Lebrat directed ten movies and performances between 1976 and 1985. Marked by abstract expressionist painters (especially Mark Rothko) and by the radicalism of the films of Peter Kubelka, his films show the decomposition of the light by fragments in order to explode the optic of the projection to create a brand new colored intensity.
He also created and directs since 1985 the Paris Expérimental editions, which interests are experimental and avant-garde cinema, and organizes every year in Paris the "Ciné Qua Non days".

Anke Buxman Anke is responsible since August 2000 of the distribution for Argos. She was the coordinator of the "Argos Information Days 2000" and introduced Belgian experimental videos in Dortmund (2000), New York, Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg (2001).
Argos is an organisation founded in 1989. It's goal it to stimulate the Belgian video-art.

Born in London, UK, since 1996 lives and works in Barcelona, Spain. Member of La Fabrica de Cinema Alternatiu. Board director and programmer for L’Alternativa, Independent Film Festival of Barcelona, now in it’s 9th edition. Curator and co-ordinator of film and new-media themed exhibitions, and in between tries to cycle everywhere.
