Get Thrashed

Go back to the roots of thrash metal with Get Thrashed, a hymn to long-haired head bangers, skin-tight jeans, sweaty pits and beer steam-baths! This film by Rick Ernst retraces this emerging genre, in an underground 80s scene in California, from its birth to its apogee producing themselves on gargantuan stages before getting shot down by the grunge movement. Ernst, who also worked for the shows Headbangers Ball and 120 Minutes of MTV, studded his documentary with interviews by Megadeath, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and a handful of others, testifying for an era when rock’n roll was still synonymous with rebellion and when glam-rock enthusiasts still got their noses broken for wearing Mötley Crüe t-shirts.
