This Frank Pavich film does not claim to relate the entire history of New York hardcore since it focuses only on the specific scene, during the summer of 1995, from the Bronx to Long Island. The idea behind N.Y.H.C. was to offer an alternative mode of expression for their violent musical compositions, extrinsic to the usual stage. It is the opportunity to experience head-on the musical performances of groups such as Madball, No Redeeming Social Value, 108, or H20 before an enthralled audience moshing brutally; to benefit from the testimonials of persons whose common denominator is their refusal to a compromise, creative or commercial. Complemented by interviews from members of Agnostic Front or even Cro-Mags, N.Y.H.C. became, upon its release almost ten years ago, a cult documentary in the underground festival circuit.
