"Beat my eye" by Katia Bassanini
The artist will involve the public in a chain of sporadic and disconcerting performance/happenings.
These will parody previous 60s and 70s actions from different art-politic movements; the works of Dick Higgins, Yoko Ono, George Maciunas, Allan Kaprow, Chris Burden, Bruce Nauman, VALIE EXPORT, Piero Manzoni and others will be revisited. The artist will interpret some scenes with many accessories and all kind of items borrowed to these passed works, which will drive the stage in an autonomous way. “Fanzines” describing the context of the original plays will be distributed to the public to give some necessary references to the interpretation of the parodies.
The Public will discover grotesque, hilarious or provoking performances in several places of the festival: it could be in a small room that parodies Cut from Yoko Ono or in the streets with a VALIE EXPORT reworked play.
