Dog's Mushrooms 2003-2011

Vernissage Oct. 19, 18:00

Lauréat of the call for project - LUFF 2011

by Sébastien Leseigneur

Experimental maze, organic auto destructive manifest, or the utopia for a film that would never end in reinventing itself. Simultaneously, sound and music generate realisation and creation strength: tension shoving the dynamic between light and movement.
In this case, we could consider the photographic in the middle of a triangle composed by cinema, music and painting. But rather distant from the “prestige” of painting, in a connection between cinema and music. Modern photography brings us in a way to the dialectic of master and slave in its relation to the other methods of creation, an uncanny figure. That’s both a technic and a conceptual question. There’s a great deal of energy in this non-autonomy. That’s why this is a fantastic and melancholic historical object: the “photogenic”, the magic of light… Practicing sculpture I came to photography (and largely the “imagers” internet, scanner, camera…). The project Dog’s mushrooms could be identified as the musical genre of Noise, like an extension of the photographic field, but this doesn’t mean an invention, in fact since the beginning the photographic is experimental through its own technical invention and Its political nature. All things considered, to make photography is quite appealing in its discreet and repetitive kind.
