Black metal : an ideological and musical movement and genre made up by metalheads, murderers, adepts of church arsons and suicidal persons. This feature length documentary looks into the birth and the boom of black metal through the eyes of its leaders, who tried to change the world through their music and also symbolic acts of violence. They were three leading the scene: the first one is dead, the second one serves a prison sentence for killing him and prompting a surge of church arsons, the last one continues releasing albums in the genre they created. The boundaries between music, art, activism and terror are blurred and that inspires a certain number of artists to put back this phenomenon in context in art galleries and museums throughout the world. Part postmodern art movement, part terrorist movement and part rock scene, the film tells a story unlike any other.
