Over the last years some countries have been quite favoured by our programmation team because of the wide-ranging impact and fame of some major works produced there. Is that to say that our beloved homeland has no 'LUFFable' film production to offer? Assuredly not! As one could expect - and will find out after a little investigation - our national output holds its fair share of strange and mysterious films, penniless works and renegade reels which are well worth (re)discovering.
Diversity is not a vain word at the LUFF, so rather than following a specific orientation in terms of style, we have concocted a selection of movies from the Dark Side as varied as possible, aiming to reveal to the greater number a wealth in styles and themes that has so far been known only to few. The programme is made up of seven films produced between 1976 and 1989. They range from a music film to a bloody Eurotrash production via an anarchist documentary, a morbid debut film by a talented female artist, and a forgotten commercial success.
Zinema welcomes Swiss contemporary works for the five days of the festival. Again, diversity in genre is the rule: short, fiction, music film, styles diverge and complement one another.
