Norbert Möslang is half of the now notorious Swiss duo Voice Crack, extinct in 2002, whose "sound stew", as per Alan Licht, "was one of the best noise experiences of the 80s and 90s". Along with Andy Guhl, the other half of Voice Crack, he opened the way for Hardware-Hacking; diverting every-day electronic objects in order to make unimaginable sounds during their highly visual sound performances. Once activated and amplified, the world of sound inside these objects shatters the cultural habits connected to the way we usually hear sounds. As a solo artist, Norbert Möslang continues to explore the paths he cleared. He often collaborates with other great adventurers of sound and improvisation, such as Poire_z, Borbetomagus, Otomo Yoshihide, Günter Müller, eRikm, Jérôme Noetinger, Lionel Marchetti, Jim O'Rourke, Florian Hecker and Oren Ambarchi (also playing tonight). In parallel, Möslang develops the relation between sound and image in Peter Liechti's filmmaking: for example in his last film The Sound of Insects (2008) or in Kick That Habit (1989), the very important documentary about Voice Crack, to see absolutely at the LUFF.
