As a fan of double bill programs, Lucas Balbo started to collect B movie memorabilia. By the early 80s he published the fanzine Nostalgia, about the gems of exploitation cinema. Late 90's, he assisted Jean-Pierre Dionnet to illustrate the TV series Cinéma de Quartier, and Quartier Interdit. He was assisted with many DVD bonus productions. Recently, he wrote an encyclopedia about B Movies titled Les classiques du cinéma bis, the logical following of his first book on Jess Franco (Obesssion, The films of Jess Franco).
Born in 1969, he spends time in movie theaters or video clubs, endlessly looking for B-movies. 1992: he takes part in the creation of Faubourgs du Cinéma, a Cinématèque de Toulouse program dedicated to underground cinema. Then he contributes to the conception and program of Extrême Cinéma, where he sets his taste for exploitation movies. He has been working on a psychotronic chronic for the Brazil monthly and currently works for Christophe Bier on short news writing for the Dictionnaire des longs métrages français érotiques et pornographiques, to be published in 2010.
Born in 1946, Mark Rissi grew up between Basel and Richmond (Virginia), where he studied art history and political sciences. Director of The Black Spider, popular success of the 1980’s inspired by a novel by Jeremias Gotthelf, he has also directed Ghame Afghan – The Grief of the Afghan or Der Gatte and has produced several series and documentaries for television. He has won numerous awards, among others, at the New York Film Festival, the Chicago Film Festival or the Atlanta Film Festival.
