Terrains Festival

Aventures soniques d’Australie et de Suisse : voici l’incroyable Terrains festival. A Bâle de jeudi à samedi – Daniel Buess vous y convie.

Terrains will feature a dynamic range of sonic adventurers from Australia and Switzerland who will seek to map out and explore new auditory landscapes in an attempt to sonically satisfy the good people of Basel. As a Swiss/Australian collaborative project, Terrains seeks to highlight and celebrate the points of similarity and difference between Swiss and Australian sonic terrains.
The international collaborative nature of the project is emphasised through the curation of the festival, where a number of Swiss/Australian projects have been programmed, including the Swiss/Australian noise duo Buggatronic, Stelarc (Aus.) performing with percussion electro duo CORTEX (Swiss), Ensemble Phoenix Basel (Swiss) and Sean Baxter joining forces to perform a composition by James Hullick (Aus.).
While a range of genres – from flat out noise, to post punk, to sound installationists, to poshy orchestra types to electro-glitch freekazoids, and more – will be represented in our concerts and installations, all the Terrains artists have the fetish of ‘experimentation with sound’ as a driving force at the core of their work.
